Know before you go

A few Central Valley specifics to make the day smoother and safer.

🌡️ Beat the heat

Early July routinely hits the high 90s or 100s here. Bring water, sunscreen, hats, and shade, especially for morning parades and lakeside shows.

🚗 Arrive early, plan exits

Reservoir shows (Woodward, Don Pedro) fill up and close at capacity, with road closures and no in-and-out. Get there hours ahead and review the exit map.

🎆 Fireworks rules

Only "Safe and Sane" fireworks are legal in some Stanislaus County cities, and only around the holiday. Many areas ban them entirely. Check your city before lighting anything.

🐕 Leave pets home

Loud shows stress most animals, and some venues charge a dog fee or restrict pets. They are usually happier and safer at home.

♿ Accessibility

Bring folding chairs for parades and lawn events. Contact organizers ahead for ADA parking and seating at ticketed venues.

✅ Confirm before you drive

Dates and times can shift. Tap the official link on each card the week of the event, especially for the TBA listings.

After several years of drone shows, the 2026 Downtown Turlock Independence Celebration plans to bring back a fireworks show on Friday, July 3, with a viewing festival organized at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds. Confirm details on the official site.

Why are some events marked "TBA"?

Woodward Reservoir is now confirmed for Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. Riverbank still had not listed a July 4 event on its city calendar as of this update, so it stays marked TBA. Use the official links to check for the latest announcements.
